• During the bank holiday weekends or holidays, the program for groups to Caño Cristales might be modified. It might happen because of the limits of visitors per location at a certain time due to the environmental issues and sustainable tourism. The number of days will be the same, but the program might change a bit depending on the other groups visiting the river at the same time. Please note that we cannot offer private
• Group tours during bank holiday if a group is smaller than 4 pax. In such case we combine different groups into one group for all the activities and visits to Caño Cristales
• Note: The itinerary may be changed during your visit depending on weather conditions, environmental authorities (like Parques Nacionales and Corrmacarena), military authorities or the limit of permissions given to visit Caño Cristales each day
• In any case you will always get an alternative without losing any aspect of the given program above
• We offer Caño Cristales as an ecological touristic destination. It is very important to follow the instructions of the local guide(s) and never cross or swim in the river without the previous permission of your guide. Nowadays there are only very few places available for swimming in the river in order to protect the environment and Caño Cristales in particular. Do not leave anything behind and do not take anything away from the flora and fauna. Other important requirement is to respect the local communities and culture as well as the decisions made by local authorities (like Parques Nacionales, Coormacarena, army, etc.)
• Mosquito repellent and sunblock can be used in the village of La Macarena, but should not be taken to Caño Cristales, as the chemicals might harm the Clavijera Macarenia (water plants of Caño Cristales). Although Caño Cristales is a destination offered as an adventurous trip, we do not have a fixed age limit. You should be aware that young children should be under supervision of their parents, and that for a good and successful visit you should be in good physical shape as you will have to walk a lot over difficult terrain and rocky surface
• What to bring to Caño Cristales? Good walking shoes which may get wet during the visit of Caño Cristales. Extra pair of shoes or flip flops. Clothes for hot and humid climate as well as dry clothes for after the visit to Caño Cristales. Swimming suite and towel. Long pants and shirt with long sleeves for the evening
