Along the way you'll enjoy stunning views as the landscape slowly morphs from the cool high altitude of Kathmandu's hills to the warmer climates of Nepal's subtropical zone. Arrive at the park and get situated at the Royal Park Hotel, spending your afternoon exploring local villages and a museum covering the history of the indigenous Tharu people that call the area home. Relax on the 5-hour journey and watch the landscape transform as you travel from the cool climate of Kathmandu's hills and terraced fields to Chitwan's subtropical flood plains and grasslands. When you reach the national park, enter a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines that is home to rhinos, elephants, crocodiles and deer. You might even spot the elusive Royal Bengal tiger! Meet your hotel representative for the 10- to 15-minute walk to your accommodation at the Royal Park Hotel, where a brief orientation session will be held.
