Immerse yourself in the coastal beauty of South Australia on this diverse 5-day tour highlighting wildlife, wine and local culture. The tour includes a balance of guided activities and leisure time to explore at your own pace. Visit several Barossa Valley wineries to taste South Australia's renowned wines, and browse shops and galleries in the old German community of Hahndorf. Have an Aussie animal adventure on Kangaroo Island, with visits to Parndana Wildlife Park, Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and Seal Bay Conservation Park. Sample unique local products at a eucalyptus distillery and a honey farm, and savor regional cuisine with several included meals. Make your own flight arrangements into and out Adelaide Airport, and enjoy convenient round-trip airport transfers once you arrive. Spend the rest of the day and evening in Adelaide at your leisure.Hotel: Chifley on South Terrace (Standard), Stamford Plaza Adelaide (Superior), Adelaide, 2 nights.Day 2: Adelaide -- Barossa Valley -- Adelaide (B)After breakfast at your hotel, travel into the Barossa Valley to sample fine South Australian wines including TeAro Estate and Saltram wines. In the town of Lyndoch to Kellermeister, for some Cellar door tastings including their Wild Witch Shiraz, the 'Retro' selection and a crisp apple cider. Enjoy a delicious 2 course Barossa style restaurant lunch and wine tastings at the Saltram Wine Estate. Leaving Saltram Wine Estate, head to the impressive Wolf Blass Visitor Centre to enjoy tastings of some of the award-winning wines and learn about Wolf Blass the man, the wines, the winery and the vineyards. Relax on the drive through the Adelaide Hills back to your Adelaide hotel, where you have the remainder of the afternoon and evening to spend at your leisure.Day 3: Adelaide -- Kangaroo Island (L)An early morning pick up from your hotel for a scenic coach journey to Cape Jervis taking in the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula with its vineyards, coastal views and rolling hills. On arrival, board the SeaLink ferry for the 45-minute crossing to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Here you will board your luxury SeaLink coach and your local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia's premier nature-based tourism destination. Your first official stop will be at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, an interesting bush engineered distillery that makes the most of its environmental resources. After testing and tasting the Eucalyptus products, continue onto Vivonne Bay Bistro located on a 260-hectare bush property, for a delicious two course lunch. After lunch visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and enjoy a guided beach walk with a National Park Ranger amongst a breeding colony of wild and rare Australian Sea- lions. Your tour will then visit another amazing wildlife attraction, the fascinating Birds of Prey free-flight demonstration, an interactive and educational display of native Australian birds and raptors. From here, you will travel to the centre of Kangaroo Island to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park where you can feed the kangaroos, have your photograph taken with a koala, and take a guided tour of this wildlife and bird park. You will then be transferred back to your chosen overnight accommodation. Hotel: Aurora Ozone Executive Room (Standard), Aurora Ozone Executive Sea View Room (Superior), Kangaroo IslandDay 4: Kangaroo Island -- Flinders Chase National Park -- Adelaide (B, L)After your hotel pick up, visit Clifford's Honey Farm to enjoy an informative talk by the beekeeper followed by tastings and an opportunity to sample homemade honey ice-cream and honey beauty products. Next, travel to Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to look for Koalas nestled up in the eucalypts, followed by a scrumptious two course lunch. After lunch travel to the western most part of the Island, Flinders Chase National Park, one of Australia's largest and earliest conservation parks. After a short stop at the Flinders Chase Visitor Centre, travel through the park and enjoy breath-taking views of its unique trees, plants and coastal scenery. You will be taken to the rugged southern coastline for a walk around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views. Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular arch, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful New Zealand fur seals that can be seen swimming and playing in the waves, or resting on the rocks. Return to Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for the return journey to Adelaide.
