Then glide through part of popular Piedmont Park, whose history spans the course of nearly two centuries. This 189-acre urban park includes paved walking and biking paths, event space, picnic areas and playgrounds. Not far from here is the beautiful Atlanta Botanical Garden, with 30 acres of plants, art exhibits, fountains and more.Make a stop at the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, a historic house museum where Margaret Mitchell wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Gone With the Wind. Across the street is the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, the sixth Federal Reserve District comprising Alabama, Florida, Georgia, parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Also nearby is the Georgia Institute of Technology, one of the world's top technological research universities.Roll past the Fox Theater, a former movie palace that now serves as a performing arts venue and the restaurant district, to learn where the best spots are to eat and drink.
