After morning pickup from your central Reykjavik hotel, take a seat inside your super jeep - a rugged SUV with monster-size tires specially designed to make light work of Iceland's challenging terrain.Then, admire the surreal-looking landscapes as you travel to Thingvellir National Park. This pristine wilderness is one of the three sights of the famous Golden Circle, and known as the location of Iceland's first parliament in 930 AD.View the assembly site and hear about the speeches and laws that were laid down here through the centuries. Stroll around the rugged landscapes, and soak up views of the park's awe-inspiring features.Next, follow mountain tracks to the geothermal region of Geysir. Take the walkways around the bubbling mud pits and steam vents, and keep your camera poised to snap the geyser just as it erupts into the air. Then, drive to the next Golden Circle site: the breathtaking Gulfoss waterfall. Ogle the stupendous double falls, and with luck, catch sight of the rainbows that sometimes form in the water spray.After a stop for a delicious Icelandic lunch (own expense), such as hearty lamb stew, travel on to Langjökull, Iceland's second biggest glacier, for your unforgettable snowmobile ride.Admire the magnificent glacier, don your supplied coveralls, helmet and gloves; and after a safety briefing, hop on to your 2-seater snowmobile. Then, open the throttle and set off behind your guide. Feel the adrenalin rush as you zip over the packed snow and ice, and take in the incredible glacier and mountain views as you go.Afterward, enjoy a scenic jeep journey back to Reykjavik.
