Elsen Tasarkhai or mini-Gobi is located 280km west of Ulaanbaatar, and it is a sand dune that stretches 80km long, and 5km wide in Hugnu-Tarna National Park of Bulgan province. During the trip, you will be able to visit ruin of Erdenekhamba monastery in the beautiful landscape of Hugnu Khan mountain, visit local nomadic family who lives in the national park. The area presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape all in one location. We will sleep overnight in ger (bring your own sleeping bag), drink milk tea, eating local home-made food, help them to round up their animals, and learn how to cook traditional Mongolian food. It is fun. You also can ride camel on the sand dune.

Second part will allow you to explore the 13th century complex where you will visit the largest equestrian statue the Chinggis Khan statue complex that is 40m tall. Drive through the 6 relay camps that show the lifestyle of people who lived in the 13th century.

Spend the day hiking in the Bogd Khan mountain range without the hassle of driving. Get picked up from your Ulaanbaatar accommodation and head for the Manzushir Monastery before embarking on a scenic hike of moderate difficulty to Tsetsee Gun peak, 7,402 feet (2,256 meters) above sea level. Includes lunch.

The Bogd Khan Uul, in the south of Ulaanbaatar, has a range of 416 square km and the most elevated point is Tsetsee Gun which is 2256 meters above ocean level. The Bogd Khan Mountain has more than 220 types of plants, some uncommon creatures like red deer, musk deer, Siberian deer, Siberian ibex, wild hog and numerous types of winged creatures, for example, normal scavanger, woodpecker, stork and others. The mountain is incredible for climbing and it is famous for its woods with larch trees, meadows, shocking plants and its creature life. Moving to the highest point of the tors of the rock bluff pinnacle, Tsetsee Gun for stunning perspectives is truly testing. The pinnacle is a three hour climb away and five-six hours for the roundtrip climb.
