History of Monkey Island
Monkey Island is, in fact, a series of small islands. When the expansion of the Panama Canal necessitated the relocation of monkey populations to a large island, some of the animals weren't coexisting well. They were ultimately separated into smaller populations, each on their own island. Habitat encroachment continues to be a problem for these monkey populations, as well as other indigenous species.

Museum of Colonial Art (Museo De Arte Colonial)
A short stroll from Plaza Grande, the Museum of Colonial Art (or Museo de Arte Colonial) is in a restored 17th century mansion and includes a fine collection of 16th to 18th century paintings, sculpture and furniture.

Museum of Applied Art (Kunstgewerbemuseum)
As befits one of the most important decorative-arts museums in Europe, there are two locations for Berlin's Museum of Applied Art ("˜Kunstgewerbemuseum' in German); the Kulturforum near Potsdamer Platz and an outpost at the Schloss Köpenick on an island in the Dahme River. The former is housed in purpose-built gallery designed by Rolf Gutbrod in 1985, which was refurbished in 2014 to provide a home for an expanded collection celebrating the landmarks of European design from medieval times to present day. Highlights include examples of medieval religious art, Renaissance silverware and the ornate rococo Chamber of Mirrors transported from the Schloss Wiesentheid in Kitzingen, Bavaria. Recent additions include a spectacular Fashion Gallery "” exhibiting 130 dresses dating from 1795 to present day "” and important pieces of Jugendstil and Art Deco glassware and furniture.
Temporary exhibitions featuring artifacts from the museum's repository are held at both venues but the major selling point of the ornate, moated Schloss Köpenick is its permanent display of reconstructed period rooms. Monino Central Air Force Museum
Located 24 miles from Moscow along the Gorky Highway in a wooded area, the Monino Central Air Force Museum is the premier aviation museum in Russia and one of the largest aviation museums in the world. A bit out of the way, it is well worth a visit for anyone with a serious interest in aviation or Russian military history.
An operational air force base between 1932 and 1956, the museum was founded in 1958 and opened in 1960. It was off limits to civilians during Soviet times and until 2006, advance permission was required for non-Russians to visit. Using the base's original structures, the museum features more than 170 aircraft and more than 120 aircraft engines, including fighter planes, passenger planes and helicopters. The most impressive of all is arguably the Ilya Muromets, the largest aircraft of the 20th century. Also on display are a variety of weapons, spy instruments and uniforms from the Cold War era.

Monseñor Romero Center

Named and built after the Norwegian symbolist painter Edvard Munch, the Munch Museum (or Munchmuseet) first opened its doors in 1963 to commemorate what would have been the painters 100th birthday. Moral House (Casa de Moral)
Built around 1730, this large ancestral house is an excellent well-preserved example of baroque-mestizo architecture. The name of the house has nothing to do with ethics, but instead derives from the ancient mulberry ("moras") tree in the central courtyard. With over 20,000 Asian artifacts, the Museum of Asian Art in Berlin is one of the largest museums of ancient Asian art in the world. Museum Het Schip
Michel de Klerk was the leading architect of the early 20th-century Amsterdam School movement, and his legacy is the foremost example of the style in the city. Greatly influenced by the works of Hendrik Berlage, the designer of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange (Beurs van Berlage), De Klerk's Het Schip is found just north of the Westerpark and was completed in 1921. It was to be his swansong, a vast apartment building intended to provide social housing for more than 100 families of railway employees to combat a severe housing crises in the city. Beautifully formed in the shape of an ocean liner and constructed from red brick, Het Schip is adorned with elaborate masonry, spiky towers, spires, ornate glass and wrought-iron grid-work. When it was completed, the complex also incorporated a school, meeting hall and a post office; the latter is today a museum of Amsterdam School architecture featuring a typical working-class apartment of the 1920s, which stands in contrast to the one designed according to Michel de Klerk's socialist principles. There are plans afoot to build an extensive new museum at the site.

Museum for Communication
The Museum for Communication in Berlin explores the history of all things that have to do with communication. It's in a neo-baroque building with modern neon blue lights. When you walk into the museum, one of the first things you will see is robots in the atrium. The museum was originally started as a postal museum in 1872 and has been in its current location since 1898. On display as part of the permanent exhibition are tools of the written word, including wax seals, postcards, and stamps. There are also items representing the spoken and visual word, such as telephones, radios, and film, and items representing virtual communication, like telegraphs and computers.
There is a big focus on changing approaches to signs, codes, and media, and the effects they have on public and private life. The museum has an interactive approach that makes things interesting for kids as well as adults. The Museum for Communication is also regarded as the oldest postal museum in the world.

Mt Kozjak
Mt Kozjak ("˜Mali Kozjak' in Croatian) is a mountainous ridge sitting above the town of KaÅ¡tela near Split and forms part of the Dinaric Alps; it is 9.5 miles (16 km) in length and its tallest peak is Veli vrj at 2,556 ft (779 m). From the top of Mt Kozjak there are spectacular glimpses across the Bay of KaÅ¡tela to Split and Trogir and on towards islands including Brac and Hvar scattered in the sparkling Adriatic Sea. The region is an enormously popular leisure destination with climbers in winter and there are several mountain lodges for overnight stays, including one at Malaāka. In summer walkers and cyclists flock onto the mountain to follow the trails; one of the best-known in the area is around South Rock, a scenic hike with amazing views across rural Dalmatia.
Jeep tours leave Split daily for an exploration of the wilds of Central Dalmatia to discover its rural villages and unspoiled countryside on unmade lanes. One of the highlights is the carefully restored rustic hamlet of Ã…Â kopljanci, which offers a couple of restaurants and a delightful garden planted with plants mentioned in the Bible. There's also a small ethnographic museum where traditional costumes embroidered in red thread are displayed along with ancient farming implements.

MOOF Museum
The MOOF Museum, or the Museum of Original Figurines, is a museum in Brussels dedicated to comic strips. The museum features comic strip figurines, collection items, original comic strips and drawings. More than 650 figurines and original objects are on display, but the museum's entire collection consists of around 3,500 pieces, making it one of the finest collections of comic book memorabilia in the world. The museum has items from Belgian comics, such as the famous Tintin and the Smurfs, as well as American collections, manga and more. The figurines are displayed next to the original comic plates from which they originated.

Millesgarden
Located on the island of Lidingö in the Stockholm Archipelago, Millesgarden is a spectacular sculpture park and art museum created by renowned Swedish sculptor Carl Milles in the terraced gardens of his clifftop house. He built a fanciful mansion at Millesgarden in 1907 and spent many years adding to his sculpture collection before donating it to the Swedish nation in 1936. Milles died in 1955 and is buried there along with his artist wife Olga.
The works are beautifully displayed against an ever-changing backdrop of the sea, with statuary featuring in ornamental pools, on columns and in spouting fountains. Containing many stellar examples of sculpture from medieval to modern, the collection is cleverly interspersed Milles's own sinuous creations in bronze, including his famous sculpture, Hands of God.
Although the sculpture garden is the premier attraction there, the Milles's flamboyant, red-roofed family home is also open to the public, where Olga's paintings are displayed alongside original castings of Carl's sculpture. The design of the house is eclectic, with Pompeii-influenced frescoes and mosaics in the Red Room, ancient musical instruments in the Music Room and rooms full of valuable antiques. Temporary exhibitions of contemporary art can be found in the Art Gallery and the smaller Anne's House in the grounds is packed with furniture designed by Austrian-born architect Josef Frank.
