Lost City Museum
Travelers to Nevada can certainly get their fill of desert life and glitz and glam. But those who want to travel back in time and experience ancient past can get their fill on a visit to the Lost City Museum. This popular attraction is Overton, Nevada is not only the site of prehistoric Puebloan Indians, it's also home to plenty of reconstructed Puebloan homes.
Travelers can wind their way through red clay homes, check out artifacts collected from excavation sites and tour a museum that displays pottery, jewelry and other native handicrafts. Although the Lost City Museum was never actually a town, visitors can still get a taste of what life was once like in the desert sands of Nevada.

Venetian Gondola Rides
The Venetian Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip recreates the romantic experience of a gondola ride on the Grand Canal of Venice in Italy. Travelers can glide down the replica canals under graceful bridges, passing striking architectural structures and the hotel's Grand Canal Shoppes in the duplicated Venetian streetscape.
The Basics
Gondola rides are offered every day, and visitors can choose between a private two-person gondola and a shared gondola that seats four people. The 14-minute ride covers about half a mile of water, weaving indoors beneath the Venetianís sky-painted ceilings or outdoors along the Strip. Fifteen minutes before the rides begin, singing gondoliers appear in front of the lagoon to further transport travelers to Venice.
Things to Know Before You Go

- The last ride leaves the dock 15 minutes before closing time.
- Reservations must be made in person unless you book ahead with a super saver that includes admission to Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.
How to Get to the Venetian Gondola Rides
The Venetian Hotel is located on Las Vegas Blvd, near other resorts and hotels such as the Stratosphere, the Bellagio, the Wynn, and Paris Las Vegas.
When to Get There
The indoor gondola operates Sunday through Thursday from 10am to 11pm and on Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight. Outdoor gondola rides run daily from 11am to 10pm, weather permitting, and the gondola box office opens at 10am daily.
Want to be a Gondolier?
Each day, a small group of participants at the Venetian get to participate in a special Gondola University training program that teaches them how to be a gondolier, complete with a hat, T-shirt, photo, and official degree.

Shark Reef
Inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino is the Shark Reef Aquarium, showcasing more than 2,000 animals displayed in 14 different exhibits and almost 1.6 million gallons of water.
The Shark Reef Aquarium was designed to be a "total sensory experience," and part of that is achieved by leading visitors through an acrylic tunnel with water nearly surrounding them. This exhibit alone includes 15 different species of sharks along with all the other sea life in the tank.
Other species in the aquarium include golden crocodiles, sea turtles and piranhas, none of which are included in the touching pools where visitors can find out what some of the other sea creatures feel like.

The Shark Reef Aquarium, located inside Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. During the summer, the aquarium is open until 10 p.m. daily. Tickets are $18 for adults and $12 for children ages 5-12.
