What To Expect

City tour only:After hotel pickup, settle into your coach and meet your guide, who provides commentary about Adelaide's historical charm, abundant green space, contemporary architecture and heritage buildings during your 3-hour city sightseeing tour. Head to the North Terrace, home to the city's main memorials and historical landmarks, and disembark the coach to walk down the Rundle Mall. Check out Colonel Light's Lookout, named for Adelaide's founder and said to be where he mapped out his plans for the city; stop by St Peter's Cathedral; and visit Haigh's Chocolate's for a sample of these local delights accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea. Other attractions you may see on your tour include Trinity Church, Victoria Square, Hutt Street, Parliament House, the River Torrens, the Terraces (West, East and South) and Montefiore Hill. Your tour concludes on King William Street.River Torrens cruise upgrade:At Elder Park, hop aboard your boat, the Popeye, for your 40-minute cruise along the River Torrens. Enjoy views of the city center from the water, and watch for several types of birds and ducks that swim and waddle around the riverfront. This leisurely ride is an excellent way to soak up Adelaide's scenery. Your cruise concludes with return to the departure point. River Torrens cruise and Adelaide Zoo admission upgrade:The most comprehensive sightseeing experience, this option includes entry to the Adelaide Zoo after the river cruise; just disembark the boat at a jetty located a short walk from the entrance to the zoo. The pandas are the main event, and you'll have an allocated time to view them. Before this time, explore the zoo independently to see the 300 animal species, including giraffes, lions and flamingos. Perhaps get something to eat or drink at one of the cafes, if you wish (own expense), before making your way to the state-of-the-art panda exhibit at the appropriate time. This is a can't-miss opportunity to see the only giant pandas in the southern hemisphere and the first to live permanently in Australia"”Funi, born in 2006, and Wang Wang, born in 2005. Learn about the Chinese research center where the pandas were born, and observe their lazy grazing on bamboo stalks.
